Cancelling Chai: two stores, two paths

Chai is a mobile app with no account page on the website, so Premium and Ultra are bought as in-app purchases. That means the cancel button lives in your store's subscription settings, not inside Chai.

Where the subscription actually lives

Chai ships only as mobile apps — the web version on the site is marked “Coming Soon”. The Google Play listing shows in-app purchases from $0.99 to $899.99 per item; those are the plans. Billing and renewal run through your store account, which is why there is no cancel button inside the app.

iPhone

  1. Settings → your name (Apple ID) → Subscriptions.
  2. Pick CHAI in the list and tap Cancel Subscription. Access stays until the end of the paid period.
  3. If it is not listed, the subscription belongs to a different Apple ID — or to Google Play.

Android

  1. Google Play → profile menu → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
  2. Pick Chai and tap Cancel subscription. Deleting the app does not cancel anything.
  3. Check you are signed in with the Google account that paid.
Refunds are the store's decision

Because the purchase is made through Apple or Google, a refund is requested from them under their rules, not from Chai.

If the reason is the paywall

Recent reviews in both stores are dominated by one complaint: messaging that used to be free now requires Premium, and the ads stayed. Cancelling does not bring the old model back.
